Senior year I got my first job as a server. I was not aware that servers had to learn everything in the menu. I was shocked!! I was scared but I wanted to challenge myself. I ended up loving my job. I loved meeting all types of different people, even the annoying costumers. Becoming a server opened my eyes. I learned how to tip well and how to appreciate servers. It really is more difficult than most think. Being a server, we have to deal with annoying costumers that want everything to be perfect and their food has to be exactly on point. Obviously we do not live in a perfect world. So, not everything will come out in time and no everything will be how the costumer wants it to be. Learning how to carry trays was a big challenge for me, most laughed because I’m small and carrying big trays with a lot of food on it. Working at Uncle Julio’s was a life lesson that I loved. I am excited to go home for the summer and to continue working there.
